        Included in this lot we have a original Doris Logan Jones portrait of a young Navajo Native American girl originating from 1975. Doris Gwendolyn Logan Jones (1926-2013) was born in Billings, Montana and is known for her pastel portraits of Native Americans. She was an art and music teacher and active volunteer in the Billings area. Her art is displayed in the Browning Museum along with C. M. Russell and Frederick Remington. This portrait shows a ten year old Navajo Native American girl named Hester. She is shown looking of to the left with a colored feather decorating her hair and a yellow shirt or dress. The piece is signed in the bottom right hand corner reading "Doris Jones". The art is set into a custom wood frame with a off white border around the art. The piece shows good condition overall with some light wear on the frame. The frame measures 15 1/2" wide by 17 3/4" tall wide the art measuring 7 1/2" wide by 9 1/2" tall.
