      Signed and dated1902 lower left. Frank Eastman Jones studied art at the Ingham Collegiate Institute in LeRoy, New York. It was the first women’s college in New York State, and became the first chartered women’s university in the United States. He was one of the rare men admitted to the College of Art, and one of two men who graduated in 1878. He later taught in Lockport, had a studio in Buffalo, and eventually moved to New York City. His paintings were exhibited in the National Academy of Design in 1891.       "New York City, Central Park Conservatory", Oil on canvas, signed "F. Eastman Jones '87" lower right, Christies labels on verso. Jones studied at the Ingham Collegiate Institute in LeRoy, New York, the first women's college in New York. He was one of the few men admitted to its program, graduating in 1878.
