      Property of a Diplomatic World-Traveling Family Description: Joshua Kaganove (Illinois/Russian Federation, 1892-1968), Snow Scene, Oil on Canvas, signed lower left, depicting a figure walking along a road with houses and snowy landscape, in a carved giltwood frame. Frame size: 26 in. x 35 in. Born in Kiev, Russia on August 22, 1892, Joshua Kaganove taught at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1940s and lived in the Chicago area until his death in August 1968. He studied at Cooper Union School in New York, and the Art Institute of Chicago and exhibited at the Art Institute as well as the Wichita, Kansas Art Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Jewish Art Club.
