The focus of his studies on stage and film also corresponded to his further professional activity - after Kasberger had moved to Wels, he worked as a municipal stage designer and was also on the theater advisory board of the city of Wels from 1942 on. In addition, the artist also maintained his own studio. In addition to his theater work, Kasberger not only created oil paintings, but also carried out public commissions for frescoes. In addition, he published a series of postcards with motifs from Wels around 1919. The artist died in Wels in 1969. From a thick blanket of snow protrude the roofs of two huts. Left and right high conifers frame the image. In the background a mountain summit rises against a cloudless blue sky and is brightly lit by the glowing rays of the winter sun. In his atmospherically colored landscapes of this kind, Kasberger was able to render the majestic beauty of the Austrian countryside. The painting is signed and dated lower right ‘Kasberger 1928’. It is good condition. Inspeciton under UV light reveals retouchings to the edges as well as the sky and hills. The frame shows light wear. The framed works measures 70.5 x 80 cm, the board measures 59.5 x 69 cm. Karl Kasberger (1891-1969) Karl Kasberger was born in Vienna in 1891. Later he settled in Wels, Upper Austria, where he found many of his motifs. He worked mainly in oil but also in watercolor, creating bustling city views as well as beautiful winter landscapes in which he captured the magnificent nature of Upper Austria and Styria.
