Noted feminist and artist from Buffalo, New York, Shirley Kassman (1929 - 1991, America), Titled "Bottles," woodblock or linoleum print in four colors. numbered edition 4 of 6, dated August, 1955, Framed: 9.5"h x 16.5"l. Kassman was known for her feminist views regarding the importance of female artists, she was also an artist and teacher in Buffalo New York. She was a professor of design and acting chairperson (1982-83) at the State University College at Buffalo. Kassman also served as president of the Buffalo Society of Artists in 1978. in 1987 she had a solo retrospective at the Burchfield Penney Art Center, Buffalo, NY, in addition to numerous solo shows throughout the state, grants and fellowships.
