      KAUFMANN, Theodore ATTRIBUTED / AFTER (1814-around 1890), 2 counterparts "Assassination attempt on Abraham Lincoln", two scenes depicting the assassination of the President of the United States in April 1865 in Ford's Theater in Washington. 1x Lincoln with companions in the presidential box and 1x the assassin J. W. Booth jumps across the gallery after the shot, unsigned, inscribed 'Th. Kaufmann, 1814-1890 '(probably by another hand), oil / cardboard, HxW: approx. 35x30 cm (43x37 cm with frame) and approx. 41x35 cm (51x42 cm with frame). Part. Damaged. Each with frame (wood, partly damaged). 1x VERSO studies, probably based on Kaufmann's American painting book.
