HELEN KELLER (1880 - 1968) American author who overcame her lack of sight, speech and hearing to write inspirational accounts of her life. T.L.S. in pencil and ink overlaid, 1p. 4to., Forest Hills, June 17, [n.y.] to Villa thanking her for "...Raymond's address. I will write to him the first chance I get. I hope I shall meet Miss Evans sometime, and then how we shall talk about him! I love to think of the dear, bright little boy with whom I had such merry frolics in the old days at Red Farm..." Keller is referring to one of the children of J. E. Chamberlin the owner of Red Farm in Wrentham, Mass. where she lived for a number of years. She recalled in her autobiography that Red Farm was, "associated with nearly all my joys and sorrows...The sweet companionship of their children meant much to me. I joined in all their sports and rambles through the woods and frolics in the water. The prattle of the little ones and their pleasure in the stories I told them of elf and gnome, of hero and wily bear, are pleasant things to remember..." (pp. 121-122). Usual folds, else very good condition.
