Kern 1916/17“ Dimensions: 43.7 x 33.1 cm Estimate by Auctionata Expert: 100 EUR This lithograph is a rare work by the German painter and illustrator Guido Josef Kern. The wintery scene shows the snow covered roofs of Berlin. In the foreground three bare trees twist across the image. This is a fine work by the artist, who became known mainly for his art historical writings. The work is in a fair condition according to its age. Especially the sheet shows heavy yellowing, discolouration and mould stains. In the upper left part of the image there is a brownish discolouration and indentation. There is a tiny puncture by the signature. The work is signed “G.J. Kern” and dated “1916/17” on the lower right. The dimensions of the sheet are 43.7 x 33.1 cm. The plate measures 22 x 16.5 cm. Shipping costs excl. statutory VAT and plus 2,5% (+VAT) shipping insurance.
