Biography

Janet Kerr RWS - Elected ARWS 1995 & RWS 1997

Born in Hornchurch, Essex, Janet began painting at a very early age. In the 60’s she studied Graphics and went on to work as a Graphic Designer for a record company in London, designing album covers.

Janet moved to Yorkshire with the company in 1974, and after the birth of her daughter in 1978, returned to her primary interest of painting. Excited by her local Yorkshire Pennine landscape, Janet began studying fine art privately with a mentor.

Her work has been shown throughout Britain and in Japan and is in collections in Britain, Japan, The United States, Australia and South Africa.
