Dorothy Leeson was born in Gretton, Northamptonshire. Upon her marriage she lived at Appleby Farm, Renhold, Bedfordshire, and exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Paris Salon throughout the 1950s and 1960s. She was a member of the Essex Group in the 1920s with her friend Sir George Clausen (British, 1852-1944).
