Christa Kieffer Art for Sale and Sold Prices

German artist Christa Kieffer was recognized for her artistic talents even as a kindergarten student. She studied throughout Europe before moving to Los Angeles to attend the Art Center College of Design. Placing first in the Society of Illustrators competition earned her a fellowship that assisted her to complete a Masters of Fine Arts degree. Many companies commissioned her work, but her easel oil paintings of the late 19th century Paris eventually became her focus.

Before her death in 2004, artist Christa Kieffer traveled often from her home near Point Reyes National Seashore to photograph Paris streets in the still, early morning. Her love of natural light's magical transition, when juxtaposed with manufactured light at dusk, is evident in Christa Keiffer prints and paintings; she used glazes to create their celebrated luminosity. Discover other vintage-style paintings for sale online and at auction.
