          KINGS: A good small selection of three A.Ls.S., by various European Kings, comprising FERDINAND I (1751-1825) King of the Two Sicilies 1816-25, and King of Naples 1759-1806 & 1815-16 as King Ferdinand IV. Son of King Charles III of Spain. A.L.S., `Ferdinando´, two pages, 4to, Castell Ammare, 24th July 1792, to Count Andrea, in Italian. The King refers to his wife the Queen having given birth to a new Prince. Accompanied by the original envelope bearing a red wax seal in very fine condition. With blank integral leaf; FRANCIS I (1777-1830) King of the Two Sicilies 1825-30. Son of King Ferdinand I King of the Two Sicilies. A.L.S., `Figlio Francesco´, one page, 4to, Palermo, 22nd January 1818, to his father King Ferdinand I, in Italian. The future King refers to the letter received from his father, and to his letters to Leone. With blank integral leaf; and ANTHONY of Saxony (1755-1836) King of Saxony 1827-36. Known as ''Anthony the Kind''. A.L.S., `Antonio´, two pages, small 8vo, Dresden, 25th April 1805, to his brother-in-law King Francis I, in French. The King refers to the earthquake news received, and congratulates that family and children are all well. With blank integral leaf. VG, 3 £150-200 Maria Carolina of Austria (1752-1814) Queen consort of Naples. The present letter refers to the birth of Prince Alberto of Naples in 1792. The Prince would die at the very early age of 6.

          Lot of 5 Colonial Spanish Silver 8 Reales from the 1700 and 1800's. Those dated 1792, 1894, 1795 and 1809 feature King Charles, as the 1816 features King Ferdinand VII. Known as Pillar Dollars, these were sometimes cut up into 8 sections, thus the term "Piece of Eight". Each Silver 8 Reale Pillar Dollar is in its own presentation case.

          Pre-printed, else filled out by hand, dated Aranjuez, 5 February 1795, signed "Yo El Rey" below the text and by the writer Manuel de Negrete, y de la Torre, concerning a unit of the Infanteria Walona and the persons Eduardo Wicart de Boearme and Augusto Baron de Overschie, bifolium only printed on the first page, on reverse thereof with short annotation in manuscript dated Madrid 7 February 1795 and signed Juan de Pina y Ruiz, 30.5 x 21.5 cm. Several folds, small tears covered with tape, mild foxing.

An attractive D.S., Carlo Felice, one page, large folio, Turin, 26th January 1827, to Doctor Rappon, in Italian. The document, bearing an attractive printed heading, is a patent given to Doctor Carlo Rappon, who requested the privilege of privacy on the institution he has created with steam medicinal baths. Below the King´s signature it is stated that the patent is given for a period of ten years. With blank integral leaf. To the blank leaf has been lightly affixed an 8vo partially printed document, being the payment receipt given to Doctor Rappon. Also bearing to the blank leaf a paper seal affixed. A small hole affecting only one word and not the signatures. With multiple countersignatures at the base of the front page. G

The King refers to the letter received from his correspondent, dated 22nd November, and states `Your letter awakened again the deep sorrow that the death of H.M. The Archduchess of Austria and Crown Princess of the Two Sicilies, Maria Clementina, your daughter in law, meant to me.´ Charles Emmanuel further mentions the virtues of the Royal Princess which he could appreciate in person. The two Princes in exile refer to the declaration of the Royal-Guyenne regiment officers received from Count Soustain, stating `..we have responded that we approve the officers behaviour regarding their oath; we also approve the steps taken since then in order to get closer to the Kingdom´s boundary, and we order them to remain with their regiments until they receive our new order, unless they experience riots among their corps..´ Charles Philippe adds the place and date in his hand before signing. An unusual revolution date letter signed by the two brothers of King Louis XVI and future Kings of France. With blank integral leaf. Some overall age wear and creasing, otherwise VG
