Then in the centre a close-up head portrait of the same woman with short curly hair. On her head she wears a kind of straw hat with ornamental ribbons and floral decorations. She looks attentively in the direction of the viewers. The drawings were partly made for the publication "150 Jahre Weltgeschichte für die Dame. After contemporary reports and models", which dealt with the fashion of the 19th and early 20th century. It was published in 1955 under the editorship of Erhard KLEPPER. Date: 20th century Description: handwritten inscribed "1897". Fashion studies of elegantly dressed ladies at the turn of the century. One of the women is wearing a dark, sophisticated dress, the skirt of which is still inspired by the fashion in the years 1840-1870. Draped flounces adorn the top of the dress. While two of the women remain in a rather static posture, the one in the middle has opera glasses up to her eyes. Fashion study of an elegantly dressed lady. She is dressed entirely in the manner of the late 19th century. The tightly cut top with rich ornaments and a lace collar is followed by a wide skirt. The dress with lap parts has flounces and jewelled clasps at the hems, thus further emphasising the narrow cut of the dress at the waist. The drawings were partly created for the publication "150 Jahre Weltgeschichte für die Dame. After contemporary reports and models", which dealt with the fashion of the 19th and early 20th century. One of the women wears short hair and an opulent flounce collar, the woman to her right a simple bonnet on the back of her head. Another sitter wears a top hat with feathers and a bow. The woman, who can be seen in full figure, wears a dress richly decorated with flounces and lace, a train forms the back of the festive dress. The drawings were partly made for the publication "150 Jahre Weltgeschichte für die Dame. Nach zeitgenössischen Berichten und Vorlagen" (150 years of world history for the lady), which dealt with the fashion of the 19th and early 20th century. Date: 20th century Description: Depiction of two figures from the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen (1805 Odense - 1875 Copenhagen) from a collection of 1865. The two protagonists of the fairy tale are shown, the red-haired son of the drum beater - called Goldschatz - and his great love Lotte, the daughter of the mayor, to whom he gives piano lessons. When she marries another man, he finds a treasure in his violin and achieves great fame. The illustration comes from the estate of the artist, illustrator and costume draughtsman Erhard Klepper and is the 4th motif from a series of fairy tale illustrations on Hans Christian Andersen. Behind her is a bust portrait of a man with aristocratic features and implied military decorations. It is presumably the main characters of the novel Bette Fischer and her widowed brother-in-law Hector Hulot. The illustration comes from the estate of the artist, illustrator and costume draughtsman Erhard Klepper and belongs to a whole series of novel illustrations. Please also note our further offer. All three wear a top hat, two of them a bow tie and a whisker. Erhard Klepper (Beuthen 1906-Berlin 1980), wrote numerous books on the history of fashion and illustrated them with his own drawings; his aim was to record clothing together with its accessories. Among other things, Klepper was the editor of the books "Die Mode des 18. Jh. " and "150 Jahre Weltgeschichte für die Dame. Compiled according to contemporary reports and models 1801-1950" (first edition Herbig Verlagsbuchhandlung Berlin 1955, 223 pages with numerous fashion drawings by Erhard Klepper).
