André Marie Jean Jacques Dupin, known as "Elder Dupin", born 1783 in Varzy in the Nièvre, died 1865, was a lawyer, Attorney General at the Court of Cassation and politician. He was a deputy in 1815, president of the Chamber of Deputies in 1832, a member of the Constituent Assembly in 1848, president of the Legislative Assembly in 1849, and finally a senator in 1857. After his election in 1832, he was also a member of the French Academy. André Marie Jean Jacques Dupin, known as "Elder Dupin", born 1783 in Varzy in the Nièvre, died 1865, was a lawyer, Attorney General at the Court of Cassation and politician. He was a deputy in 1815, president of the Chamber of Deputies in 1832, a member of the Constituent Assembly in 1848, president of the Legislative Assembly in 1849, and finally a senator in 1857. After his election in 1832, he was also a member of the French Academy.
