    A fine engraving of the stately home known as Wollaton Hall created by the Dutch artists Jan Kip and Leonard Knyff for their famous 1707-1709 work 'Britannia Illustrata', an important collection of unusually detailed views of English country estates. The caption reads 'Wollaton Hall in the County of Nottingham Seat of the Honorable Sir Thomas Willoughby Baronett.' The coat of arms of said Thomas is at the center of the caption. Kip and Knyff were both accomplished artists in the Netherlands who followed William of Orange to Britain upon his ascension to the English, Scottish, and Irish thrones. This work appears to have been started during William's reign but was not published until the reign of his successor Queen Anne, the first monarch of the United Kingdom. Great Britain, c. 1707.
