          Emanuel Kodet graduated from the School of Ceramics in Bechyně and then studied at the School of Applied Arts in Prague. He was a student of Stanislav Sucharda from 1901 to 1908. He completed his studies with the sculpture just offered, Your love, wife, is crushing. The statue made of Slivenec marble represents a young man burdened with unprocessed material with a hint of a girl's face - a demon. It was this sculpture which gained him public attention and drew attention to his artistic skills. The main theme that Kodet dealt with was the female figure, especially in the form of an act. He also photographed his models and these photos are a popular topic of exhibitions. His significant realizations include, for example, the decoration of the Länderbank palace in Vienna, Žižka's mound near Sudoměř, a credit bank in Lvov and a number of tombstones (eg Psýché).

          KNEELING GIRL`S NUDE Bohemia, 20th century Decorative figure of a girl, burnt clay with patina. H. 42 cm. Signed on plinth „Kodet Em.“. KLEČÍCÍ DÍVČÍ AKT Čechy, 20. stol. Dekorativní plastika dívky v polosedu s rukama spojenýma za hlavou, pálená hlína patinovaná. V. 42 cm. Signováno na přední straně soklu „Kodet Em.“. Stav B. Český sochař, malíř a grafik, narodil se v Pelhřimově. Studoval na Odborné škole keramické v Bechyni a na pražské uměleckoprůmyslové škole u prof. S. Suchardy. Po úspěšném absolutoriu strávil rok na Akademii v Římě. Vytvořil plastiky a pilastry pro novostavbu budovy pražské Filosofické fakulty UK, z roku 1915 pocházejí alegorické reliéfy Obchod a Průmysl na vídeňské Živnobance. Jeho životním dílem se stal monumentální pomník Jana Žižky u Sudoměře z roku 1925. Po vzniku Československé republiky v roce 1918 vytvořil pomník padlých v Jiřicích, Husův pomník v Sušici (1923) a řadu dalších vzpomínkových prací, ale také řadu děl se sokolskou tematikou. Navrhoval i dodnes oceňované keramické plastiky v artdecovém stylu. Jeho syn Jan (1910-1974) se stal rovněž úspěšným sochařem a také otcem malíře Kristiana Kodeta (1948).
