    JAN KODET (Prague, 1910 - 1974). "Virgin with lilies". Plaster. Signed. Measurements: 34,5 x 28,5 x 3 cm. Ornamental relief realized in plaster in which the bust of the Virgin is presented in profile to the spectator. Mary portrayed with fine, soft and delicate features inspired by classical statuary closes her eyes in a meditative attitude while she comes closer to smell the scent of the lilies that are arranged in the lower part of the composition.

    Statuette from the collection of metalworker Karel Barták in the spirit of the poetistic - civilian flow. Jan Kodet is from the family of Czech painter and sculptor Emanuel Kodet. He studied at the School of Applied Arts in 1928–1931 under Professor Karel Dvořák, and in 1931–1935 he studied under Professor Otakar Španiel at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. He was a member of the Mánes Union of Fine Artists (1933–1949). He visited France (1936), Denmark, Norway and Sweden (1946), the Netherlands (1947) and Hungary (1956). His son, painter Kristian Kodet, is continuing the family's artistic tradition. Signed: On the right "J Kodet"

    Algal limestone, Slivenec marble. Female figure: 104 cm; pool: 49 x 60 x 175 cm. "Vital Spring" was originally intended for one of the water elements at the rest area at Bertramka. It comprises a small pool and plinth of Slivenec marble with a water fountain and a sculpture of a crouched young lady in algal limestone. Jan Kodet is from the family of Czech painter and sculptor Emanuel Kodet.     LOVERS. 1943. Fired clay sculpture of two lying lovers, one of the artist's favorite themes. That is probably the original model for subsequent realization of castings in other materials. Length 22 cm, 14 cm (including marble plinth). Signed and dated „JAN KODET 43“, marked „ORIGINÁL“. Condition restored. MILENCI. 1943. Plastika z pálené hlíny zobrazuje ležící mileneckou dvojici, jedno z umělcových ústředních témat. Jedná se patrně o původní model k následné realizaci odlitků v jiných materiálech. D. 22 cm, v. celk. 14 cm (vč. mram. Soklu). Sign. a dat. „JAN KODET 43“, zn. „ORIGINÁL“. Stav restaurováno.  LIEBLINGSPAAR. 1943. Terrakotta-Plastik, liegende Lieblinge, ein der Zentralthemen Kodets. Wohl Originalmodell für anschließende Realisierung von Gussteilen aus anderen Werkstoffen. L. 22 cm, H. 14 cm (mit Marmorsockel). Sign. und datiert: „JAN KODET 43“, bezeichnet: „ORIGINÁL“. Zustand restauriert.
