    Kristian Kodet, "Milenci II" ( Der Liebhaber ), Ölgemälde von 1990 Kristian Kodet, *1948 Prag, tschechischer Maler, hier: Neo-surreale Darstellung eines abstrahierten Paares, die Frau mit einem langen Schleier, der Mann eine Kugel in der rechten Hand haltend, Öl/Lw., 35 x 30 cm, r. u. sign. u. dat. (19)90 Kristian Kodet stammt aus der Familie des tschechischen Bildhauers Jan Kodet, er ist auch der Enkel des Bildhauers Emanuel Kodet. Von 1964-1968, studierte er an der Académie des Beaux Arts in Brüssel. 1968 emigrierte er erstmals in die Schweiz und blieb bis 1970 in Genf, bevor er nach Prag zurückkehrte. 1979 verließ er sein Heimatland zum zweiten Mal, diesmal ging er in die USA. In Amerika setzte er seine malerische Tätigkeit fort und veranstaltete dort mehrere Einzelausstellungen. Nach der Samtenen Revolution 1990 kehrte er in seine Heimat zurück, wo er bis heute lebt und arbeitet. Im Jahr 2001 eröffnete er in Tábor sein eigenes privates Kodet-Museum, in dem eine ständige Sammlung von Kunstwerken aller drei Generationen der Familie Kodet untergebracht war. (19)90 Kristian Kodet comes from the family of the Czech sculptor Jan Kodet, he is also the grandson of the sculptor Emanuel Kodet. From 1964-1968, he studied at the Académie des Beaux Arts in Brussels. He emigrated to Switzerland for the first time in 1968 and remained in Geneva until 1970 before returning to Prague. In 1979, he left his home country for the second time, this time to the USA. He continued to paint in America and organised several solo exhibitions there. After the Velvet Revolution in 1990, he returned to his homeland, where he still lives and works today. In 2001, he opened his own private Kodet Museum in Tábor, which housed a permanent collection of artworks from all three generations of the Kodet family.
