Published in 1776 by Christoph Martin Wieland under the title "Love for Love", the story is set in twelfth-century Brabant and concerns the enchanting Princess Sonnemon, who is courted by countless suitors. In erster Linie mit seinen Porträtstichen erfolgreich, erhielt er den Titel eines kaiserlichen Hofkupferstechers. Als Zeichenlehrer durfte er die Kaisergemahlin Maria Theresia zu seinen Schülerinnen zählen. Ganz ausgezeichneter Druck mit schmalem Rändchen um die Plattenkante. Hofkupferstecher. - "Man hat um so lieber auch eine eingeschränkte Kürze beyzubehalten getrachtet, da der Zweck des Herausgebers der Kupferstiche ohnehin kein anderer war, als guten frommen Kindern ein nützliches Geschenk damit zu machen" (Vorwort). - Block zwischen Text- und Tafelteil angebrochen. Published in 1776 by Christoph Martin Wieland under the title "Love for Love", the story is set in twelfth-century Brabant and concerns the enchanting Princess Sonnemon, who is courted by countless suitors.
