      WILLIAM LAWRENCE COMPTON KOLAWOLE (1931 - ) Two untitled etchings. Both printed on cream wove paper, 1969. 495x349 mm; 19 1/2x13 3/4 inches, full margins. Signed, dated, and numbered 10/4 in pencil, lower margin * 635x381 mm; 25x15 inches, full margins. Signed, dated, and numbered 10/9 in pencil, lower margin. Kolawole lived in Munich in the 1960s before returning to the U.S. His work has been included in a number of museum exhibitions, including Afro-American Artists Abroad, National Collection of Fine Arts, Smithsonian Institution, and the monograph Black Artists on Art ,Vol. 1 by Samella Lewis and Ruth Waddy in 1969. More recently, he was included in the 2006 abstract survey Something to Look Forward To, organized by painter Bill Hutson, which traveled to the California African American Museum and the Heckscher Museum, Huntington, NY.
