It is exemplar no. 244 out of an edition of 300. In the manner of the constructivists the depiction shows a geometric vocabulary, consisting of various round and square shapes. The color design in the three primary colors red, yellow and blue is also reminiscent of constructivism, especially of the Dutch De Stijl artists. The piece is monogrammed in red felt pen at the lower left ‘DK’. At the lower right the signature ‘DKoning’ is written in pencil. The lower left is numbered ‘244/300’ in pencil. The reverse, too, is inscribed in pencil: ‘Dirk Koning (1888-1978) “Konstruktivismus” Entwurf v. 1927 Druck ca. 1970’. The lithograph is in a very good condition with minimal signs of age and wear. A few tiny handling creases are visible in places. The dimensions of the image are 39 x 30 cm, while the overall dimensions of the sheet are 60 x 42 cm.
