Stanley Koppel Art for Sale at Auction

b. 1911 - d. 1990

A fine painter and printmaker, Stanley Koppel exhibited his art in San Francisco and other California cities from around 1945 to 1970. In September of 1959 an etching of Koppel's, entitled, Men Drinking at a Bar, was presented to Nikita Khrushchev during his historic visit to the United States. Lonesome Sunday was created by the artist around this time and clearly shows his power of depicting social and urban issues.
