Prints or artist's proofs from this edition reside in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art (NYC), the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, and various other institutions. Dimensions: (Larger frame) H 20" x W 23" (Sight) H 19" x W 22" Conditions: Not examined out of frames. Aquatint slipping down in frame, showing light toning to paper and one area of minor discoloration to lower right corner. Etching frame missing glass; toning and stray marks to paper and mat. Nicks, dings, and finish losses to both frames.

In 1992 Chaim Koppelman, Robert Blackburn, and Will Barnet received a New York Artists Equity Award for their dedicated service to the printmaking community.       Chaim Koppelman (NY, 1920-2009), Lanterns in the Granite etching and aquatint, pencil signed and titled in lower margin, numbered 1/30, matted and framed under glass. DOA 21.5 x 26.5 in. From the Collection of the late Mr. Robert Leroy Shalkop, Salisbury, North Carolina After serving in the US Army in WWII, Robert Shalkop studied at Maryville College in Tennessee before earning his Master of Arts at the University of Chicago and then pursuing postgraduate work at the Sorbonne in Paris. He was an archeologist, curator, and assistant director for several institutions including the Smithsonian Institution, the Brooks Memorial Art Gallery in Memphis, TN, and the Taylor Museum of the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center. He served as director of the Anchorage Museum of History and Art from 1972 until his retirement in 1987. Mr. Shalkop then moved to Salisbury, NC where he offered his expertise as a museum consultant.
