Differential taxation is not possible. The photograph was taken by the Canadian photographer Lewis Kostiner in 1977. This is a later print. Shown is the interior of a Courthouse in Silverton, Colorado. The plain walls emphasize the hanging decorative chandelier. The simple furniture appears almost staged. The photography is also distinguished by the gentle use of light and shadow. This print is signed ‘Lewis Kostiner’, titled ‘Silverton, Colorado’ and numbered ‘1997’ on verso. The sheet is matted (reversible) and is in very good condition with only insignificant signs of wear. The sheet measures 50.6 x 40.6 cm. The framed dimensions are 60 x 50 cm. Lewis Kostiner (b. 1950) Lewis Kostiner was born 1950 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He studied at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island and then attended the Institute of Design at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. This was followed by teaching positions at Columbia College in Chicago dating from 1973-81 and at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago from 2007 to 2012. His work can be found in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY, the Museum of Modern Art, NY, as well as the Art Institute of Chicago.
