Painter, Freskomaler, Caricaturist

Crall was active from 1915 for fashion publishers, z. For example, for "Modern World - Illustrated Revue for Art, Literature and Fashion" and the "Supreme Abessin" ( Abyssinian fashion newspaper). He also worked as a commercial artist. In the 1920s, he turned increasingly to painting and committed himself to the New Objectivity .

In 1923 he was admitted to the Albrecht Dürer League, 1926 in the Central Association of fine artists . In 1938 he became a member of the association "Heimische Künstler Klosterneuburg ". A new contact, the Klosterneuburger Künstlerbund, arose from the fact that Krall lived in the period from 1932 to 1939 almost every summer in the Villa Hauser in Klosterneuburg, (Martinstraße 115). The Klosterneuburger Künstlerbund existed since 1906 and its most famous member is Egon Schiele . In 1938 Carl Krall joined the association and later became exhibition director. Krall was able to contribute to the fact that exhibitions of the Klosterneuburger Künstlerbund, apart from presentations in Klosterneuburg Abbey , z. B. also took place in the Zedlitzhalle in Vienna in 1943 and 1944 and was extremely active as an exhibition director until 1970, for example as a juror in addition to the famous art historian Rupert Feuchtmüller . A poster from the 20th art exhibition of Klosterneuburg's association of local artists from 1946 has been preserved by his hand.

From 1945 to 1956 Krall worked at the Federal Monuments Office . He was able to bridge the need and misery of the postwar period as a restorer. He worked in Vienna, inter alia, in the Schönbrunn Palace (ceiling fresco by Gregorio Guglielmi from 1761) in the Belvedere Palace and the National Library .
