After Ivan Kramskoy The Stranger Oil on Canvas

    Est: $2,500 - $5,000

The original version of this painting by artist Ivan Kramskoy (Russian, 1837-1887) is in the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow and is a very famous work. This after-piece is interesting as it is probably a 20th century piece yet it is just within an inch or so of the original 29" x 39". A wonderful and correct painting in every way, this work does have a letter by art expert and professor William Wright that states that even though this painting is not signed, whomever did paint this piece would have had to have been in front of the original as even the tiniest details are correct in size.
