The artist first took part in apartment views, but starting from 1974 was displayed at the exhibitions on Malaya Gruzinskaya street and abroad in Austria, Germany, France, the US and Japan. Krasnopevtsev worked in a genre of a "metaphysical still-life" that combines the traditions of symbolism and surrealism, became the first artist who received an award in the field of art and literature titled "Triumph" (1993). In the section of private collections in the Pushkin Museum the permanent exposition was opened titled "Dmitry Krasnopevtsev Studio", where not only the artists painting were displayed, but also the items from his studio.~ . Giovanni Migliuolo was the former Italian Ambassador to the United Nations, USSR, and Egypt as written on the paper mounted on the back. Framed. Dmitry Krasnopevtsev is an outstanding Russian artist who belongs to the generation of the Moscow avant-garde. His early etchings and paintings are melancholy and romantic. In the late 1950s-1960s, the “metaphysical still-life” became his major genre, combining traditions of symbolism and surrealism with simplicity: broken ceramic utensils, dried plants, and seashells. These “skulls of objects-things” are perceived as “poetic symbols of transitoriness” reminding us that the world around us is unreal.
