Anatole Krasnyansky Art for Sale at Auction

b. 1930 -

It was while working on a set design for ABC Studios that artist Anatole Krasnyansky experienced the culture shock that pushed his work into the realm of surrealism. Having moved from Kiev, Ukraine, to the United States, he wasn't prepared for the painted faces, extreme costumes, and frenetic performances of the iconic rock band Kiss. Finding his background in traditional art insufficient to fully express his emotional reaction to the group, he turned to a surreal style which utilized a shadow perception of mask-wearing subjects conveying the human tendency to hide behind facades.

The earlier style of Anatole Krasnyansky's art and prints for sale leaned toward cityscapes, reflecting his educational background in architecture. Working with watercolors, he used texture and color to link culture and buildings. Artist Anatole Krasnyansky's later work merges both unique architectures with surrealist figurals.
