      Kruger, Louise (1924-2013) Man Leaning on Iron Bars. 1980. Wood and metal sculpture consisting of a carved articulated figure standing steadied on an iron structure, 30 1/2 x 17 x 12 1/2 in. Kruger had her first one-person show in 1949, working as a printmaker and a graduate of Scripps University. Kruger's sculptures showcase her understanding of woodworking, joinery and metal fabrication, as evident in the present work. Her work was included in the 1953 New Talent show at the Museum of Modern Art and is part of the permanent collections of the Brooklyn Museum, Hirshhorn Museum, Museum of Modern Art, and New York Public Library.
