Kuitca was born in 1961 in Argentina, and by the age of thirteen was already showing his artwork to the public. In addition to painting, he became enamored of theatre design and saw the potential of combining it with painting when he collaborated with Carlos Ianni, a Director and good friend. Kuitca traveled to Europe in 1980, and won numerous awards for his artistic achievements in his home country. In the 1980s, he started incorporating domestic images into his paintings.           Title: Guillermo Kuitca L'Encyclopedie Large Diptych Lithographs Described By: Nikki CNX 1109 154 Description: Interesting abstracted Guillermo Kuitca large diptych lithographs titled L’Encyclopedie (Marble flooring plan and ceiling plan of a Salon in the Palace of the Marquis de Spinola). These pieces were made by Graphicstudio and its number is 1352. These pieces are numbered XXII/XLV. Pieces have just been opened for the first time to photograph so it is in excellent condition. In the lithographic diptych, L'Encyclopedie (Marble flooring plan and ceiling plan of a Salon in the Palace of the Marquis de Spinola), architectural drawings of great houses are used for inspiration. The artist mines his materials from existent maps, plans and architectural drawings; those in L'Encyclopedie are derived from engravings in Diderot's 18th century L'Encyclopedie.
