Kupfermann’s works show abstracted realities, invented by the artist and provided with an illusion of space. The work is signed with ‘M. Kupfermann’ lower right. It is in very good condition, showing a minor corrugation of the paper. The frame shows only the lightest signs of use. The sheet measures 58 x 62.5 cm, and the frame is 94.5 x 98 cm in size. Kupfermann’ lower right Sheet size: 76 x 29 cm Matted under glass in a partly gilt wooden frame Very good condition The present work in vivid colors, executed by Michael Kupfermann in mixed media on paper, features an abstract composition, in which dominate the colors yellow and red. Graphic elements, set in pencil, indicate geometrical motifs and create an illusion of space. What appears like a tangle of lines from up close becomes an ordinated structure from a distance. The work is signed with ‘M. Kupfermann’ lower right. It is in very good condition with a slight corrugation of the paper. The frame shows only the lightest signs of use. The foreground depicts the yellow and red shimmering seas, in which emerges the giant tail of a whale before a bark. Beneath the whale, it reads the handwritten text: ‚Vor unserem vor Anker liegenden Schiff tauchte ein riesiger Wal. Wir glaubten, er werde den Ozean erschüttern […]‘ [Before our ship at anchor appeared a giant whale. We believed that he would convulse the ocean]. The work is signed with ‘M. Kupfermann’ lower right. It is in very good condition, showing a minor corrugation of the paper. The frame shows only the lightest signs of use. According to the encyclopaedia of rock, Tony Sheridan is “one of the best-known celebrities of British beat music”. He interpreted several songs of the legendary Beatles and put them in the context of their time. Martin Kupfermann created a total of six etchings for the most popular Beatles songs such as “Strawberry fields forever”, “The fool on the hill” and “My Bonnie”. Fans of the Beatles will hum lines like, “Yesterday all my troubles seemed so far away…” under their breath when looking at Kupfermann’s very creative and colourful works of art. The box and the individual sheets of paper are in very good condition. Every piece of his work is titled, signed and inscribed with the edition number “7/150”. The CD does no longer exist. The portfolio measures 43.5 x 32.5 cm and the etchings measure 39.5 x 30.5 cm each. Ever sheet of paper is signed by hand, “M. Kupfermann”, and titled individually, “Strawberry fields forever”, “The fool on the hill”, “My Bonnie”, “Looking back”, “Ticket to ride” and “Lucy in the sky with diamonds”. The sheets lie in a cardboard box upholstered with linen. The whole piece of art was printed by Edition R. de Bernardi. Michael Kupfermann (born 1954) Michael Kupfermann was born in Kiel in 1954. After studying painting and graphic design he worked as a freelance artist in Ottersberg near Bremen from 1981 onwards. Kupfermann combined his artistic occupation with extensive publishing. Thus film documentations, posters, book publications and graphic editions came to be. His contemporary work of art is exhibited nationally and internationally in renowned galleries.
