Artist/Designer; Manufacturer: Shiro Kuramata (Japanese, 1934-1991); Ishimaru Co. Ltd. (Japan) Marking(s); notes: no marking(s) apparent; research indicates the table is from an edition of approximately 20-30 examples Materials: granite, steel Dimensions (H, W, D): 27"h, 40.5"w, 26"d Additional Information: The table has also been referred to as a "Twilight Time" table. Reference: Domus X, 1985-1989, pg. 39. Provenance: Collection of Mrs. Audrey Larman, West Palm Beach, Florida. Audrey Larman's grandchildren recall her passion for art, suffusing their childhood memories: "My grandma was a lover of art in every form. She adored Picasso, Calder, Dubuffet, and others. She loved taking my brother and I to museums around the world. We would point to a painting on the wall and she would always know the name of the artist. Her homes were the perfect canvas to make her art the star. The paintings are all bold, and some dramatic. As children, we would imagine that her paintings would magically come to life. Over the years, she donated significant artwork and fashion - Jean Dubuffet, Bill Blass, and others - to museums, most notably the Indianapolis Museum of Art, so others might enjoy them as well."   This lot is available for truck shipment to points along the I-95 corridor at a flat rate of $350 (including Shipper's full coverage for damage or loss). We are so privileged to be at a point in life where we can share and indulge our passion for design through PDA Gallery. The narratives surrounding Italian radical, postmodernism and avant-garde design were so fascinating. As the years have gone on, we have focused almost exclusively on Sottsass, Pesce, and other Italian masters. Finding and riding the line between art and design is what really excites us. We collect what we love but we have a few rules. Every piece must be out of production, unique or extremely early. Most importantly, every piece must invoke emotion on sight. At the end of the day I think we love extremes. We love the austerity of early modernism, the grandeur of French and Italian Art Deco, and the fun and experimentation in Italian radical design. The mix is everything.” – Kelly and Mike Mahigel, Owners of PDA Gallery, Naples, Florida.   This lot is available for truck shipment to points along the I-95 corridor at a flat rate of $250 (including Shipper's full coverage for damage or loss). This lot is available for truck shipment to points along the I-95 corridor at a flat rate of $500 (including Shipper's full coverage for damage or loss).
