      Oil on canvas France, 19th century Charles Euphrasie Kuwasegg the Younger (1833-1904) – French painter Signed lower right Verso inscribed “H.“ Romantic view of the Belgian town Dinant, located at the beautiful river “Maas“ Overall dimensions, framed: 32 x 25 cm Very good condition The present painting is a beautiful work by the French artist Charles Euphrasie Kuwasegg the Younger (1833-1904). It depicts the small, Belgian city Dinant in front of a rough mountain profile, located right next to the river “Maas”. As a true eye-catcher appears the baroque cathedral which renders the cityscape its specific character. There are two boats depicted on the river in the foreground, staffed by some inhabitants or salesmen of the city. The work is delivered with an original photograph, also depicting the beautiful view of Dinant. The painting is in very good condition with only small traces of age such fine cracks in the paint surface. There are slight traces of the artist’s signature at the lower right, but very difficult to read. The canvas is verso inscribed “H.“. The frame is in good condition with only small traces of age and use. The framed work measures 32 x 25 cm. The stretcher measures 30.5 x 22.5 cm.
