Lachmüllersche Lithographische Anstalt Image dimensions: max. 18 x 34 cm; sheet dimensions: each 23.3 x 39.3 cm Framed in cherry wood Biedermeier frame, dimensions: each 26.2 x 42.5 cm The splendid costume procession of Bamberg of 1837 depicted in eleven colored illustrations The short-lived tradition of colorful processions with decorated horse wagons began in the 1820s in Bamberg and lasts until c. 1890. Thereby depicted and satirically seized are contemporary themes as well as local circumstances. No. 2: 'Sans Quarter / Anführer des Jungfern-Regiments / Ite Abteilung des' Nro 3: 'Jungfern = Regiments' No. 5: 'Ein Grieche u. eine Griechin / Harlekin / Pantaleon' (King Otto of Greece was living with his wife in Bamberg in exile) No. 6: 'Stadt = Fähnrich Rummelpuff nebst Stabert / Hanswurstansky' No 10: 'Bär und Katze. Zechmeister Larifari mit Jungfer Salome.' No 13: 'Zwei Wilde. Zwei Mohren.' No. 16: 'Der Tartaren-Chan“ No. 19: 'Ein entsetzlicher Wagen, der Flickverein, ein Schwank auf die jetzige Zeit.' (with the reversal of the depiction of the roles of the sexes: while the men knit and turn the spinning wheel ladies dedicated to drinking and card games ) No. 20: 'Der chinesische Fürst Chin-J- Chan u. sein Adjudant Kin-Fu-Ling. No. 28: 'Ein ländlicher Wagen, u. die personifizierte Fasten' Condition: The eleven colored lithographs show signs of age and wear. The borders of the leaves are stained by light due to a former mat framing. Some prints show partly foxing. One sheet with a center tear. The sheets are partly taped at the edges on the back. The frames show signs of use. The image dimensions are max. 18 x 34 cm, each sheet measures 23.3 x 39.3 cm. The frames have a size of 26.2 x 42.5 cm.
