London transport logo in top right corner. The Aldershot Military Tattoo was an annual performance dating back to 1894, organised to raise money for military charities. Candide opened at the Saville Theatre, London on April 30 1959 after runs at the New Theatre, Oxford, and the Opera House, Manchester. It ran for 60 performances and starred Denis Quilley. Osbert Lancaster designed the sets and costumes.
