Rainy Days III by Christian Landier

      Est: $2,000 - $2,500

This signed, original painting features an elegant young lady sitting pensively at a cafe table in front of a large window. Outside people and cars pass by in the rainy cityscape. There are two chairs and the table is set for two, suggesting she is waiting for someone. Typical of Landier's work, the painting is apportioned into vertical sections. The interior space is colored in shades of deep green, contrasting with the rainy exterior space painted in shades of violet. The colors are applied in a painterly yet realistic way. The light is evocative of late afternoon.

      Est: $2,250 - $2,500

This framed painting features an elegant young lady sitting at a cafe table in front of a window. Outside the window there are people and cars in a rainy cityscape. She waits for someone pensively, her head in repose. Color separates the inside of the restaurant from the outside - greens evoke the woman's restlessness, while mauves and violets show the evening excitement outdoors, even in the rain.
