Folk artist Arbon Lane was born in Reidsville, North Carolina in 1932. He did not start making art exclusively until he was in his sixties. Using simple house paint, Lane created scenes that reflected the people, places, and events of his life. After his death, his work was featured in the solo exhibition, A Black Man Speaks, held at the Hickory Museum of Art in North Carolina.
