Steven Lang is a listed American artist known for his western paintings featuring Native Americans, mountain men and cowboys. He is a Master Signature Member of the Oil Painters Of America (OPAM) organization. The artist statement about "Blackfeet At The Beaverhead": The Beaverhead formation was first seen by white men in the Lewis & Clark Expedition. Their guide, Sacagawea happily recognized and identified the landmark as part of Shoshone country. The Shoshone were constantly fighting the Blackfeet who were gaining the upper hand by the 1800's.
