Mařák at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, then studied for another three years at the figural specialty under prof. Ottenfeld. Neo-romantic landscape Bushes on a meadow is a delicate and elegant plein air with idyllic colors and hints of light rays on the flowers. LANGER Karel (16. 1. 1878 Jaromer - 2. 5. 1947 Prague) A nearly Biblical motif Oil on cardboard, 36 x 49,5 cm, framed, undated, signed lower right, title and signature on the reverse. Czech landscape painter, he studied under professor Marak at the Academy of Arts in Prague, then figural painting under professor Ottenfeld. After his studies he went to sea and later studied under Professor Benes Knupfer in Rome. He drew inspiration mainly from his travels abroad. See T 2/8, V 3/168.
