      Nancy Lawton (1950-2007) American, Etching. Pencil signed, titled, and number 5/50 on the bottom. Signed with initials NJL. Nancy Lawton is known for Graphite and silverpoint drawings, acrylic painting. Nancy Lawton grew up in Santa Clara, California. She attended California State University at San Jose and earned a MFA from The Massachusetts College of Art in Boston. Early in her career Lawton devoted her art to black and white graphite drawings on Bristol board or Stonehenge paper. She has also mastered the medium of silverpoint which she often combines with her graphite drawings or with acrylic paint. Lawton's subjects are botanical drawings and portraits. Her work is in the permanent collections of the Brooklyn Museum of Art, The Art Institute of Chicago, The Arkansas Arts Center and the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
