Par des traits dela main subtile L’ouvrage s’acheve prompte & viste, Et quand il sert la Nature, Elle luymeslasousmet ses loix. Date: c. 1630 Description: The finely engraved depiction shows four people in an interior scene with artistic décor. In the centre is a painter creating a portrait on an easel. Objects of art and paintings refer to a studio. The classical style, the precise lines and the rich iconography emphasise the importance of artistic creation. The painter is met by a boy with a pile of prints, presumably copperplate engravings or etchings of the master's works.
