Lechleitner, Michael — St. Sebastian (Grins, c. 1614-1669 Au/Bregenzerwald) C. 1650. The saint dressed only in a loincloth standing on a tree stump, the muscular body pierced with numerous arrowheads, the expressive face framed by finely carved curls. Swiss stone pine wood with old, restored setting. H. 104 cm. - The high-quality sculpture of the North Tyrolean sculptor is comparable to a Man of Sorrows and another St. Sebastian from the side altar in the Burschlkirche in Landeck, his main work completed in 1652.
