L'attelage is a beautiful original wood print realized by Paul Ledoux (1884 -1960), as the monogram on plate shows on the lower right corner. This is an original print signed and numbered in pencil on the lower margin. Edition of 160 prints. This modern artwork, representing a farmer with his cart stopped by a couple of horses in love, is in good conditions, except for a diffused foxing. White cardboard passepartout included, cm 35 x 49. Paul Ledoux (1884-1960) is a painter and engraver born in Alsace, a French province that became German after the War of 1870. After his artistic studies in Strasbourg, Paris, and Munich, he went to Paris in 1914, when war was about to begin. He enlisted in the French army and fought in Argonne. During the conflict, day after day, he took notes in his small notebooks. He also illustrated the lives of soldiers and places of battle. 24.7 x 33 (foglio), 15.7 x 21.6 (image), 35 x 49 (passepartout)
