Visual artist Arthur Le Duc is best known for his large-scale animal sculptures. He first studied sculpture at the Ecole des Beaux Arts de Caen, and then moved to Paris for further studies. The first exhibit of Arthur Le Duc sculptures was at the Salon des Artistes. His detailed, monumental work won him a silver medal for sculpture in both 1889 and 1900. Though his favorite subject was horses, people were often included in his animal sculptures.

The Arthur Le Duc sculpture Three boys mounting a horse was sold at auction in 2013 for over $7,000. Unfortunately, many large Arthur Le Duc artworks were melted down by the Nazi party or accidentally destroyed by Allied bombing during World War II.
