Throughout the 1940's and 50's, Mitty lived through Paris, Rome, and Ischia, taking inspiration from the varied European landscapes around her. Various records of her life paint a vivid picture of a charming, witty, and passionate woman who was loved and feared equally, however this energy did not translate to her artistic drive and her career never realised. She remained a close friend of both William Dobell and Donald Friend.
