Robert RGL Leonori 19th C 22x36 Luminist Hudson River School Sunlight LISTED

DESCRIPTION: A rare Hudson River School luminist 22x36 oil on canvas by listed artist Robert GL Leonori. Leonori was born in 1820 and is listed in Falk's Who's Who and the Exhibition records of the American Art Union from 1846 to 1852. While he has rarely come up for auction, his record price is $6325 for a view of Bull's Creek NJ sold by Christie's in 2000. I believe that this eBay listing is the most important painting ever found or sold by Leonori. It is an excellent luminist work where the others that have been sold were earlier topographical works. The handling of the bright sun peeking over the top of the hillside, and through the mist, is excellent. This is what Hudson River School collectors want.
