Jo Levy Art for Sale and Sold Prices

Jo Levy was born in Pittsburg, PA where she studied at the Carnegie Institute. After moving to NY, she studied with Maine artist William Zorach at the Art Students League, as well spending time in France and Italy. From 1936-1941, Levy worked in the sculpture division of the WPA and exhibited with the Woodstock Art Association. She worked in Maine during the summer from 1946 until the end of her life, producing a large body of work on paper that ranges from whimsical sketches of quotidian subjects, to abstract color studies and studies for sculpture.
