LI YIN 李因 (1610-1685, female painter) ALBUM WITH TWELVE PAINTINGS OF FLOWERS; FRUITS AND BIRDS

      Est: €15,000 - €30,000

Ink on golden paper. China, late Ming dynasty, dated 1641. SIZE SHEET 34, 5 x 32 CM, SIZE DEPICT 28 x 27, 7 CM Inscription: "In the summer of the year xinsi [1641] painted by Li Yin of the Yan suburb." Li Yin was a female painter and was highly estimated for her empathic and very sensitive and softly composed impressions of nature. All paintings executed with black ink on gold ground, a versed painting as it shows from the bamboo leafs, very amusing and vivid scenery with some cheeky sparrows sitting in the branches gossiping, among others there are pomegranates, orchids, lilies and many more, leafs partly signed all the others with several - up to six - seals. The dated depict, however, offers sparrows sitting in the branches of a blooming prune tree. Very poetic illustration of moods and very good condition of all leafs, covers of albumen made of wood From a German collection
