He catches not only the apparent, but also the inner beauty and strength of the sitter, capturing it in a very particular moment. Literature: compare Peter Lindbergh. Images of Women, Schirmer/Mosel Verlag, 2007 (another copy) Condition: The print is professionally mounted at the top edge (reversible), matted and framed behind glass. It is generally in good condition showing only pale light- and mount staining. Otherwise overall of very good impression. The image dimensions are 56.5 x 37.5 cm, the sheet dimensions 60.9 x 50.3 cm and the framed dimensions 105 x 78 cm. Peter Lindbergh (b. 1944) The German photographer and filmmaker Peter Lindbergh grew up in Duisburg and temporarily lived in Switzerland, before he was introduced to the world of art at the Academy in Berlin. He then went to Krefeld to study painting until he discovered his passion for photography in 1971. A few years later he moved to Paris, where he achieved his international breakthrough. Magazines such as ‘Vogue’, ‘Vanity Fair’ and ‘Rolling Stone’ became his steady customers, until he got engaged by Anna Wintour, the chief editor of the US-‘Vogue’, in 1988. Together they established the ‘Supermodel’ trend of the 1990s, represented by models like Naomi Campbell and Cindy Crawford. His pictures, mostly in black and white, were published many times and exhibited in international museums, including the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Hamburger Bahnhof in Berlin and the Pushkin Museum in Moscow. The award-winning photographer lives in Paris, New York and Arles, today. Shipping costs excl. statutory VAT and plus 2,5% (+VAT) shipping insurance.
