On the right is a reference to "Ueber Land und Meer. Allgemeine Illustrierte Zeitung", No. 19, p. 381. On the reverse is a typographical print in German, which contains a part of the serial novel "Plewna" by Gregor Samarow. Date: 19th century Description: Poignant depiction of the flood disaster in December 1882, when the Rhine flooded the village of Oppau with Edigheim and the surrounding area of Ludwigshafen due to a burst dam. The interior of the church in Edigheim is depicted, into which the victims of the flood disaster flee with their belongings and livestock. Date: 19th century Description: Poignant depiction after the flood disaster in December 1882, when the Rhine flooded the village of Oppau with Edigheim as well as the surroundings of Ludwigshafen due to a dam burst. Depicted is the interior of a warehouse where victims of the flood disaster are supplied with essential items.       Hütten in Agomé Palimé (Kpalimé) in Togo. Öl auf Leinwand, auf Karton aufgezogen. 31,7 x 58,7 cm. Unten rechts signiert, datiert und betitelt "Agome Palim... F Lindner 15.4.(18)89. Der hauptsächlich als Marinemaler bekannte Ferdinand Lindner reiste Ende der 1880er Jahre mit der Marine in die Kolonialgebiete nach Deutsch-Westafrika. Agomé Palimé liegt etwa 120 km nordwestlich von der Hauptstadt Lomé im Landesinneren nahe der Grenze zu Ghana. Der in den Bergen gelegene Ort war eine der Hauptanbaustätten für Kaffee, Kakao und Zitrusfrüchte. Aufgrund des kühleren Klimas und der eindrucksvollen Landschaft war Agomé Palimé zu Kolonialzeiten ein beliebtes Urlaubsziel.
